Our Podcasts

Boffin Media produces vibrant high quality podcasts. These vary from simple interviews to complex radio documentaries. From editorial content to polished feature, we will enable you to get the most of the podcast medium by providing professional recording and mixing facilities at minimal cost. We also specialise in low-cost video production – from simple handheld videos for YouTube to fully edited short films. Below are some examples of our work.

Audio

Planet Earth Podcast: A fortnightly podcast for the Natural Environment Research Council’s Planet Earth Online. Material is also shared with The Naked Scientists. We research, produce, present, edit and mix this podcast which now has a combined audience of 200,000 worldwide. You can listen to the latest podcast here, and via the itunes store. You can also follow the podcast on the Planet Earth Online Facebook page.

Rothamsted Radio: An educational podcasting project involving local schools to Rothamsted Research in Hertfordshire. We provided tuition, production and mentoring to help schoolchildren produce their own podcasts.

Space50 podcasts: Produced for the UK Space Agency, these podcasts involved extensive archive research and include unique interviews with UK space pioneers (sadly, some of whom are no longer with us).

Video

CryoSat: Boffin Media was commissioned by the UK Space Agency to make a series of videos for their website and YouTube. We were able to produce these videos for considerably lower cost than a conventional video production house.

Natural Environment Research Council: As part of our work on the Planet Earth Podcast we shoot short location videos on handheld video.

We also edited this underwater video recorded during Richard’s expedition to the Arctic.

BBC One Planet: Richard in a silly hat in the Chernobyl control room.
